The J3 Sports Experts Under 18 ITF Tournament took place April 18-23, 2022 on the hard courts in Quebec City.

Teah Chavez and Keegan Rice, both from Regina, continue to impress on the national and international scene as they both reached the finals.

Chavez had an amazing week in the girls singles event.  In first round action, Chavez defeated Raphaelle Leroux 6-2, 6-3.  In the second round, Chavez came from behind to beat No. 2-seed Martyna Ostrzygalo in three sets.  In quarter and semi-final matches, Chavez kept rolling, defeating her opponents in straight sets.  In the final, Chavez went up against Poland’s Olivia Lincer, losing the match 6-4, 6-0.

In the boys doubles event, Keegan Rice partnered with Haitam Aboufirassi of Quebec. In the round of 16, Rice and Aboufirassi had a tough three-set match against Canadian wildcards Lapalme and Minor, winning 6-4, 4-6, 10-4.  Rice and Aboufirassi defeated Leblanc and Levasseur in the quarter-finals and then beat Drapeau and Khrystyuk in the semi-finals.  In the doubles final, the boys lost in a hard fought battle against Canadian’s Liam Drover-Mattinen and Stefan Simeunovic 6-3, 7-5.
