Earlier this year, Saskatoon’s Conrad Koch accepted a scholarship to play tennis at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts. Conrad was the former number one ranked player in Boy’s Singles and Men’s Singles in Saskatchewan. Merrimack College currently plays in the NCAA Division II Northeast-10 Conference but is in the process of transitioning into the NCAA Division I Northeast Conference.

Conrad began training with the Merrimack Warriors this fall. Though their official tennis season does not start until February 2019, the team has competed in several preseason tournaments. Conrad has compiled a 9-6 record in preseason play so far this fall, including a 5-2 record in singles. He says a highlight of the fall was getting to play a tournament on the courts of the US Open in Flushing Meadows, New York.

Tennis Saskatchewan wishes Conrad all the best ahead of his first season as a Merrimack Warrior in the NCAA and congratulates him in achieving his goal of obtaining a scholarship for tennis!
