Saskatchewan Summer Games Results: August 11 – 14, 2004

Eight Zones participated in the Saskatchewan Summer Games which were held August 11 – 14, 2004 at the Weyburn Tennis Club in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. Players aged 11 – 14 years of age were able to represent their region in the event. The 3 day event featured Boys and Girls Singles, Boys and Girls Doubles and Mixed Doubles.

The Zone 2 team from Regina dominated the field capturing 5 medals (2 gold & 3 silver). The Regina comprised: Lauren Oldezki, Sara Dewhurst, Natalie Pepper, Megan Hewson, Landon Grubb, Harry Huang, Nishu Mann and Jesse Kullman with Jonathan Yee and Christina Yee serving as coaches. In second place was the Zone 6 team from Saskatoon who captured 3 medals (1 gold, 2 silver) and in 3rd place was Zone 4 (Yorkton / Melville) who captured 3 medals (3 bronze).

In individual results, Drew Hager of Moose Jaw (Zone 3) captured the Gold Medal with a hard fought 1-4, 4-2, 4-2 win over Nishu Mann of Regina. Both players train with Danny Da Costa at the Lakeshore Tennis Club / Regina SASK FIRST program. The girls title was won by Lauren Oldezki of Regina (Zone 2). She upset favourite Gabriella Andrus of Saskatoon (Zone 6) to win the title 5-3, 5-3.
