FUTURE STARS CAMP & TOURNAMENT #1 A HUGE SUCCESS!

The Lakewood Indoor Tennis Centre hosted the first of three Tennis Saskatchewan U12 development camps and tournaments to be held during the winter months on Sunday January 30, 2005. These one-day camps are aimed to improve player’s motor skills and develop coordination. Following a two-hour on court training session conducted by Canada Games Coach Danny Da Costa & Lakweood Indoor Tennis Centre Head Pro Leo Liendo, the children participated in a 5-hour tennis tournament.

The players participated in either mini tennis (half court) or full court according to there playing level. There were 5 participants in the mini tennis tournament, which was won by Rachel Ferraro of the Lakewood Indoor Tennis Centre, she defeated Fiona Conlon also of Lakewood in the final. The full court division (A) was won by Jonathan Harding of the Lakewood Indoor Tennis Club, he defeated Kendell Pon of Regina in the final.
