Provincial Senior Championships in Moose Jaw

The provincial senior open was held June 19 – 20, 2004 at the Moose Jaw Tennis Club. This was a great event with many of the top senior players participating. Lakewood Indoor Tennis Centre head pro Leo Liendo captured both the Men’s over 30 singles title and Men’s over 40 singles title. The men’s over 50 category was won by Don Axtell of Regina, while the women’s over 35 event was won by Norine Auramenko of Fort Q’Appelle.

• Men’s over 30 singles event: Leo Liendo, Saskatoon def. Mashairo Ozawa, Saskatoon 6-3, 6-1
• Men’s over 40 singles event: Leo Liendo, Saskatoon def. Lloyd Rey, Saskatoon 6-0, 6-1
• Men’s over 30 consolation: Blair Schlosser, Regina def. Gerard Osicki, Melville 8-5
• Men’s over 40 consolation: Tim McMahon, Regina def. Craig Hoge 8-5
• Men’s 35/40 Mixed Doubles: Reta Derksen / Lloyd Rey, Saskatoon def. Norine Auramenko / Tom Turgeon, Fort Q’Appelle 7-5, 6-1
• Men’s 50, 55, 60 Singles: Don Axtell of Regina was the champion
• Women’s over 35 Singles: Norine Auramenko of Fort Q’Appelle was the champion
• Men’s over 35 doubles: Mashairo Ozawa / Paul Ferraro, Saskatoon were the champions
• Men’s over 50, 55, 60 Mixed doubles: Don Axtell / Glayne Axtell were the champions
• Men’s over 45 doubles: Lloyd Rey / Paul Ferraro, Saskatoon were the champions
• Men’s over 50, 55, 60 doubles: Tom Turgeon, Fort Q’Appelle / Don Axtell, Regina were the champions.
• Women’s 45, 55, 60 doubles: Norine Auramenko, Fort Q’Appelle / Glayne Axtell, Regina were the champions.
