From August 19 – 26, 2018, several of Saskatchewan’s top senior competitors traveled to Mount Royal Tennis Club in Montreal, QC, to compete in the 2018 Steve Stevens Senior National Championships. They faced off against players from across the country in an event that had 508 players, making up 686 entries in divisions ranging from Over 35 to Over 85.

Terry Tuharsky of Regina entered the Men’s 60 singles and doubles draws. In singles, he reached the second round with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Adrian Costea of Ontario. In doubles, Terry and partner Henry Cole of Ontario reached the second round with a 6-1, 6-4 win over a team from Quebec.

Marcia Jackson of Saskatoon entered the Women’s 60 singles and doubles draws. In singles, she had a tight 3-set loss in the first round to Raymond Pepin of Quebec. Marica battled back in the consolation where she recorded three wins to make the semifinals. In doubles, she and partner Cyndy Bray of British Columbia reached the semifinals with a second-round win over a British Columbia/Manitoba team.
