Tournament participants must register on-line using the VR Tournament Planner – Tennis Canada’s tournament management system.  Cost of an annual Tennis Saskatchewan “Player” membership is $15.00 per player (non Saskatchewan players / members must purchase memberships through their applicable provincial / territorial tennis association).  Players registering in the New Tournament Player Social Event will be required to get a “Recreational” membership ($0.00).   New memberships / renewals are available on-line by clicking here.

Before players are eligible to register for a tournament, they must have an active membership.

  • This tournament is sanctioned by Tennis Saskatchewan.
  • All Coaches, Parents, Players, Officials, Spectators, etc. must abide by the rules and regulations of Tennis Saskatchewan and the Host Club / Facility.
  • All competitors MUST be a Tennis Saskatchewan Tournament member or a member of another recognized Provincial, Territorial, or National Tennis Association.
  • Events:  Men / Women – Singles / Doubles 4.5, 4.0, 3.5 … Mixed Doubles 8.5 Combined Mixed Doubles, 7.5 Combined (based on the Tennis Canada Self Rating Guide – Tennis Canada Self Rating Guide) (example: 7.5 – if one player is a 4.0 player, the other player must be a 3.5 or lower player). Tennis Saskatchewan reserves the right to change players events based on National Bank Rankings and/or World Tennis Number Ratings.  If you require clarification, please contact Tennis Saskatchewan at 306-780-9410.
  • New “Adult” players to enter the “New Player Only” event.  This event is for players new to tournament / competitive play.  Players must be born in 2007 or earlier (06, 05, etc.).  This event is meant to be a fun social event.  
  • Female players must ensure their first event is a women’s event. A mixed doubles event will be considered a women’s event … If a female player only enters one event, that event must be a women’s event. The second event may then be a male event. 
  • The Tournament Director reserves the right to cancel or combine events due to insufficient entries (i.e. events may be combined).
  • Entry Fees:  $30.00 1st event, $30.00 2nd event (No meal included with entry fees).  Players entering the “New Player Event” will register for the 1st event only.  Online entry fees must be paid before a player is accepted into the tournament.
  • Entry Limit:  2 events … Players are limited to one singles event.
  • Play Will Begin:  Saturday, August 29 – 8:00 a.m.
  • Entry Deadline:  Friday, August 21 – 11:59 p.m. … Late entries may be accepted provided the draw has not been completed.  Late entries that are accepted will be subject to a $30.00 late registration fee.
  • Draw Sizes:  Draws may be limited to 16 players per event (8 doubles teams) (subject to change based on entries, weather, and court availability).
  • Draw Times Available:  Tuesday, August 25 – after 7:00 p.m.  (available on-line or by phoning 306-242-5584).  
  • Players who withdraw from the tournament before the entry deadline will receive a refund, less a $10.00 processing fee.
  • Players who withdraw from the tournament after the entry deadline will be defaulted from the tournament, will not receive a refund of their entry fees, and will receive one suspension point (with no appeal allowed).
  • Main draw matches will be best of three sets with the 3rd set being a 10 point deciding match tie-break.  Consolation events will be held, subject to court availability.  The Tournament Director reserves the right to revert to an alternate method of scoring for both main draw and consolation draw matches.
  • No indoor courts available.  Main draw matches to be played before consolation events.
  • Players are responsible for confirming their own draw times.
  • Players must be prepared to play all days of the tournament!
  • Matches will be played on a “to-follow basis”.
  • The 15-minute default and 5-minute warm-up rules will be enforced.
  • Tennis Canada disciplinary procedures will be enforced.  The rule book “Rules of the Court” sets out the rules, regulations, and format to be followed in Sanctioned Tournaments.  All Sanctioned Tournaments will be carried out according to these regulations.
  • Wilson U.S. Open XD tennis balls will be used.
  • Proper tennis attire is required during matches.
