The 2018 Outdoor Junior Nationals are coming up in August. Here are the dates and venues for each event:

Aug 9-10 – U18 Outdoor Rogers Junior Nationals Qualifying: Ontario Racquet Club, Mississauga, ON

Aug 11-16 – U18 Outdoor Rogers Junior Nationals: Ontario Racquet Club, Mississauga, ON

Aug 18-23 – U16 Outdoor Rogers Junior Nationals: Gatineau, QC

Aug 21-27 – U12 Outdoor Rogers Junior Nationals: Tennis Tremblant, Mont Tremblant, QC

Aug 27-Sept 2 – U14 Outdoor Rogers Junior Nationals: Tennis Tremblant, Mont Tremblant, QC

For All Junior Nationals, Saskatchewan and Manitoba have 3 spots/age group/gender combined (example – U12 – 3 boys and 3 girls, same for U14, U16, and U18).

Players will be selected for the Outdoor National Championships based on Tennis Canada Rogers Rankings as of the July 11, 2018 cut-off date. Top three (3) players by gender in the age category between the two (2) provinces will qualify (unless player exemption(s) have been granted by Team Prairies Selection Committee). The Team Prairies Selection Committee to invite players to participate in the Junior Nationals.

Tennis Canada Rogers Ranking is based on a rolling 52-week point accumulation. Points are accumulated from a player’s top 5 results over the past 52 weeks. Results from each new week will be added and the results from the corresponding week of the previous year will be dropped. Players receive a ranking by playing at least one of the specified ranking events.

For the 2018 Outdoor Nationals Qualification, a player must play a minimum of 5 Qualifying Tournaments (in either Manitoba or Saskatchewan) out of a total of 8 Qualifying Tournaments (each province will host 4 tournaments within a calendar year for a total of 8) in the past 52 weeks with at least one of the tournaments being in the other Prairie province and at least one of the tournaments being an indoor tournament prior to the July 11, 2018 cut-off date.

Qualifying Tournaments are as follows:

January 4 – 7: Taylor Junior Open, Winnipeg, MB

January 19 – 21: Saskatchewan Junior Indoor Open*, Regina Sportplex

February 2 – 4: Lakewood Indoor Junior Open, Saskatoon

May 10 – 13: Kildonan Junior Open, Kildonan Tennis Club Winnipeg, MB

May 25 – 27: Provincial Junior Open, Riverside Badminton and Tennis, Saskatoon, SK

May 31 – June 3: Tuxedo Junior Open, Tuxedo Tennis Club Winnipeg, MB

June 8 – 10: Lakeshore Junior Open, Lakeshore Tennis Club Regina, SK

July 3 – 6: Prairie Junior Champs*, Taylor Tennis Club, Winnipeg, MB

* Regional Ranking Points allotted

Please note the following re: canceled tournaments/events – players will be given credit for a tournament if they entered a tournament and it was canceled due to a lack of entries or poor weather conditions.

If a player ranked in the Top 3 declines invitation to compete in the Junior Nationals, the next eligible player on the Rankings List will be invited UP TO THE #6 RANKING IN THAT CATEGORY within the PRAIRIE REGION.
