COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT /  SASKATCHEWAN GAMES COORDINATORS

Tennis Saskatchewan is the Provincial Sport Governing Body responsible for the promotion, development, and administration of tennis throughout the Province.  Applications for full-time (37.5 hours / week) seasonal ‘Community Development / Sask Games’ Coordinators will be accepted up to and including March 1, 2024.  Work term is May to August 2024.  The successful candidates must be able to work flexible hours, as evening, early morning and weekend work may be involved.

Duties:

  • Assist in the implementation of the new Tennis Canada National Tennis Growth and Development Strategy (growing tennis participation amongst youth and adults through experiences that are accessible, safe, inclusive, and fun for everyone).
  • Lead, facilitate, and work with all partners to deliver Learn to Play programs (Pathway programs – try, learn-play, play-compete – children, youth, and adults) at the community, school, and club level.
  • Through our network of clubs, communities, and schools, identify / recruit, train, evaluate players who are eligible to compete in the Saskatchewan Summer Games (school, community, and club).
  • Work with other Saskatchewan based tennis organizations / agencies in the coordination and delivery of programs and services.
  • Complete all monitoring, evaluations, and reports as required.

Requirements / Skills:

  • Ability to deliver learn to play programs for children, youth, and adults.
  • NCCP Tennis Instructor certification is an asset (course to be held in May 2024 in Regina).
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Clean Police Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Verification.
  • Respect in Sport (or equivalent) certification.
  • A strong background and understanding of the sport of tennis in Saskatchewan is a definite asset.
